Banners
and Signs
Banners
can be classified in many ways. There are 2 main categories: indoor
and outdoor.
· Indoor banners are typically made from heavy
weight paper or polypropylene. They are usually not hemmed, but are instead
cut to size and grommet (depending on the size of the banner). These banners
are usually printed with water-based inks and at high resolutions.
· When you order an outdoor banner
a description of the elements that the banner will be exposed to is required,
due to the fact that different materials are used for different conditions.
Wind, rain, snow, sun, sound, and many other elements are factors in which
type of material should be used. These banners typically are printed on
scrim vinyl and mesh for durability. Outdoor banners range in size from
standard 8’ x 3’ to 50’ x 250’ or larger. The
larger the banner is, the more fabrication that is required.
Example
1
Don Pablo’s
The above is an example of an indoor banner 8’ x 8’ with
pole pockets top and bottom and 2 separate images sewn back to back.
In this case this was a corporate rollout. We provided all items:
banner, fabrication, and all supplies for indoor with no wind conditions. |
Example2
Anaheim Angels championship banner

This above example is for outdoor use over a large span which required
extra fabrication on all corner and all sides. Vutek 5300 printer
was used to print this banner at 300 dpi. |
Example 3
KB homes
This outdoor mesh banner was created for long-term high wind conditions
and required reinforcement on all corners and edges. The main purpose
of this banner was to conceal the center field speaker system and
add additional advertising revenue. |

Signs,
like banners, are also used indoor and outdoor. Signs typically are constructed
by using vinyl with adhesive backing and some form of a substrate (metal,
wood, plastics, glass, etc). There are short term and long-term uses for
signs.
· Short-term
uses are usually done on less expensive materials and meant to be discarded
after use.
· Long term requires higher quality materials that can last for
longer periods of time.
Newport Market Place
On this sign we used translucent Avery vinyl and 3/16 white lexan.
This sign was intended to be outside for a minimum of 7 years. |
